For 1000s of years our ancestors knew that the mind has a great affect on our well being.

w1The quality of our lives depends to a large extent upon the beliefs that we hold in our minds.

Our conscious thoughts really represent the tip of the iceberg; we have millions of unconscious and subconscious thoughts every day.

Your attitude, your social networks, your community, and your spiritual beliefs play a big role in your general health..

A person’s thoughts, whether positive or negative, do have an effect on their environment and most importantly their health. If you think negatively, your mind will automatically seek out confirmation that the world is a terrible place.

Seeing is believing, and your mind reinforces your belief that reality is negative. See how it’s a downward spiral of negativity? If you expect negative results, you are less likely to feel well and illness is a way of life for you.

Negative thinking masks your impressions in fear and illness of the body.

How a person thinks has a major effect on their well being.

Negative thinking is realistic for the negative thinker but only because their thoughts make it true.

Positive thinking results in a healthy mind and body.

Positive thinking helps your body to renew and heal itself by creating a positive flow of energy within the body.

w2Change of attitude and in our way of thinking is probably the hardest thing we ever have to do.

Most of us instinctively resist change and hang on to the past with dear life.

If you think about it we are experiencing change constantly, every moment consists of a change. With each new moment it is the end of the last and the birth of the current moment.

So embrace change with a positive attitude.

Next time you perceive something crappy is happening to you instead of reacting with anger and frustration, ask yourself the following questions.

  • Where is the gift in this situation?
  • What did i learn from it?
  • So what? What can you do now? (if the moment has passed just accept it.

Social Networks

w3Let’s face it; in a world where social media hits us in the face with the latest job promotions, home purchases, births, engagements, vacations and even breakups you can get overwhelmed and sucked into a vortex of jealousy, competitiveness and depression before you even realize it.

Current day society is data hungry; it devours tidbits of news on people we know well and even unfairly gives us a glimpse  into the lives of those we don’t know well.

It’s easy to get caught up in the image of a person or life that social media presents and leads to envy, rejections and subconscious comparisons with out “friends”.

  • social media leaves you feeling down, depressed or even unwell, it is time to evaluate your online presence and maybe take a break and see how much better you begin to feel.

w4It’s probably one of those cases where you don’t know what you have until it’s gone.

A community with a good social environment tends to have higher quality of life.

Our health is also determined in part by access to social and economic opportunities; the resources and supports available in our homes, neighborhoods and communities; the quality of our schooling; the safety of our workplaces; the cleanliness of our water, food, air and the nature of our social interactions and relationships.

A good neighbor or friend with positive attitude helps you more than helping with the simple chore, they can actually improve the quality of your life. It’s simply a relief knowing that you can trust your neighbors, less stress and just being happy are signs of a good lifestyle. Even if you d on’t live in the nicest, newest neighborhood, your neighbors will make it much better.

  • Agood neighbour or friend that unloads their negativity may be on the surface good for you but their negative attitude drains you and brings you down.

No I am not talking about religion or belief in a god.

wis1Spirituality is within you, it is how we connect with our inner spirit.

You are in touch with your inner spirit everyday, but you may not make the mental connection.

  • Sort through all the thoughts you had over the past twenty-four hours. Were there some that you wondered, “Where did that one come from?” There’s your answer.

Your inner spirit voiced itself into your thought processing.

Grounding oneself daily and meditation help us to know our inner selves and clear away the clouds that society and state have thrown over our inner brilliance.
